Build A Revised Model Steam Engine

This 50-piece working wooden engine kit takes the classic steam engine to a modern level, powered by air instead of fuel, flame, or battery it can be powered by multiple air-producing objects that can be found in your home. A vacuum cleaner, air mattress inflator or air compressor can help you accurately model how steam engines once functioned. Piece together the 30 wooden parts made from plywood and add air to see different parts in motion such as the piston, flywheel and sliding valve. This kit also features adaptors for a variety of air sources (quick connect adaptor not included).

Model measures 7.5" x 3" x 2.5" when completed. For ages 8+.

Assembly requires: razor saw, 150 grit sandpaper, 220 grit sandpaper, glue and ruler.

Steam engines were originally created in the Industrial Revolution and featured a heat engine that created mechanical work using steam as power. This engine was used for over 150 years and powered vehicles to factories. These engines replaced sails that were used for ships on paddle steamers as well as steam locomotives that operated on railways.
