Atomic Orbitals -Laser Etched Crystal

Thousands of points of laser light were used to conceptualize this combination of infinitesimally small probability clouds, each formed by electrons around atomic nuclei. The planes, cones and spheres here represent the locus of zero probability- no electron here ever! Think of it as quantum mechanics captured inside a gorgeous 3.5” x 3.5” x 1.75" crystal, which comes complete with rubber feet.

This crystal is laser-etched, turning 3D data into fine-grained, cleanly drawn structures. Made with high-frequency lasers driven by hand-tooled software, these blocks are highly detailed representations of what they depict.
