Motic Digiscope 150 is a digital microscope designed with the young science student in mind. The Digiscope is both PC and MAC compatible and has a built-In CMOS Digital Camera for image viewing and capturing. Best of all, the Digiscope is easy to use and affordable!
Designed by professional educators, the DigiScope 150 Digital Microscope will take you and your students on a journey of microscopic discovery the likes of which they have never experienced. Developed using the same advanced digital microscopy technology found in our high-end Boreal and Motic Digital Microscopes, these beginner models are LED field microscopes with built-in CMOS digital camera. Used alone, they are completely portable microscopes. Combined with the camera and a computer, the possibilities are nearly limitless.

The DigiScope 150 features a 10x to 50x manual zoom lens that provides on-screen magnification of 42x to 210x. The lower magnification provides a larger field of view. The zoom is seamless, providing exceedingly crisp images and an exceptional 4mm depth of field. Because of the camera's high frame rate (~10fps) real-time focusing is possible. Image size can be configured to best suit the computer screen on which you are viewing specimens. Choices include: 160x120, 176x144, 320x240, 355x288 and 640x480.
Incident illumination (top and bottom) is provided by our superbright LED bulbs powered by three "AA" batteries (not included). These are the brightest bulbs we have seen yet. You will be pulling out all your old slides to see what new details this light can reveal. The intensity control function allows you to choose the illumination level that works best for you.
Motic software works with desktops, laptops and even projection devices. It features an intuitive control panel is bright, colorful and large. Even the youngest children have no problem figuring out how to do the most amazing things. Despite its "child-like" interface the included Motic Play software on CD-ROM is powerful, extremely robust image capture and manipulation software.
Using the software, students can capture still images or video of specimens. Pixel based measuring results in extreme accuracy - specimens can be measured in microns, mm or inches. Images can be printed, measured, flipped, painted on, labeled or "rubber stamped" with dozens of fun shapes. Several effects can be applied to an image to alter its appearance. The software even comes with pre-loaded images to get you started.
In addition, the time-lapse function allows for the creation of "mini-movies" that show specimen growth or movement over a specific period of timeImages are automatically saved to a folder for later use. The program even makes funny sounds to keep interest high (sounds feature can be turned off to save your peace of mind!). Your students will spend hours learning while having fun discoverying the joys of microscopy.
Included with the Digiscope 150 are two stages - a slide stage with molded-in stage clips for viewing regular microscope slides, and a reversible stage. The reversible stage features a side for studying whole objects such as bugs, leaves, small rocks or other non-slide specimens, while the other swimming pool side features a small indent that is ideal for the study of pond water and its creatures.
