I bought one of these to satisfy my main curiosity of how much electricity various 'trickle' devices used around the house (TVs, VCRs, DVDs with trickle current as well as 'wall warts'). Unfortunately the thing apparently reads usage BEFORE it's own circuitry, not after, so that all of these low draw items usage is distorted by the current drawn by the monitor. At my local rate, it costs 42-cents a year even without anything plugged in! Maybe not a big deal, but it seems it could have been just as easy to design around this. It would also be nice to be able to set the 'resolution' of the readout (more decimal places, less whole numbers when reading certain functions). Maybe next time, they'll really nail it.
