Useful for Detecting and Measuring Radioactivity
This Digital Geiger Counter is ideal for many applications, including emergency services and domestic preparedness, HAZMAT and compliance verification, dirty bomb screening and EMT's.
The digital geiger counter has a 16 character by 2 line LCD digital display which shows the Count Per Timing Mode; either Second (CPS), Minute (CPM) or 5 Minute on line one and the equivalent radiation level on line two.
Secondary indicators produce an audio click and LED blink each time a radioactive particle is detected. Digital information (Counts Per Second (CPS) may be sent serially to a Windows PC program for charting and recording the measured radiation over time.
Survey Meter Mode
The GCA-07 digital Geiger counter takes real time radiation readings and displays the Counts Per Second (CPS) and equivalent radiation level in either Imperial mR/hr or Metric mSv/hr. The CPS data is updated every one second interval while the equivalent radiation level readings are a three second averaging of the last three CPS readings.
Background Radiation Monitor Mode
The GCA-07 digital Geiger counters can be set to take Counts Per Minute (CPM) readings. Displays accumulated count and equivalent background radiation in either uR/hr or uSv/hr.
Low Battery Indicator
When battery voltage drops below 7 volts low battery indicator lights to inform user to change battery.
Calibration Our Digital Geiger counters are factory calibrated using CS-137 Gamma source.
LCD Display High contrast 16 character by 2 line LCD (liquid crystal display) with back light provides easy to read output.
Secondary indicators: audio (clicks) and visual (LED) included. Also includes a headphone jack and power jack for external power.

All Geiger counters sold by Scientifics are for educational purposes only. They will measure different types of radiation including alpha, beta, gamma, and X-rays, but they should not be used for any health, safety or medical purposes, or to determine a human being's safety in an area that is suspected of radiation exposure.
Our Geiger counters will detect different types of radiation, but unless you know how to properly calibrate them and interpret the data, these Geiger counters should not be used to determine safe or unsafe levels of radiation exposure.
