Value Quality Price It takes a little practice to find the magnetic area on which the globe floats. Once you get a "feel" for that "magnetic holding area" you can place in two seconds. Other people cannot seem to find it even 10 minutes later. So relax, make small adjustments with trying to find that area, and it will work. For some reason, it's a lot easier if you cup your hands when feeling for that magnetic area.

Quality Value Price I haven't had the troubles others are mentioning. I think they are trying too hard or something. I just center it in a relaxed manner and the most it takes is a couple of minutes and that's rare. Personally, I love it and it makes a great conversation piece. I have been buying and using Edmund Scientific products since the early 70s and I love their cool products.

Quality Value Price My 3rd Levitron World Stage just arrived. The first one was impossible to use because the floating part would not center on the stage after more than 60 minutes of trying. I returned that unit and was given a second unit that arrived broken. The third unit just arrived today. Maybe this one will finally work. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Quality Value Price What the image doesn't show, here, is that within the globe, there is a removable platform/disk upon which you can set various items in place of the globe. The field is strong enough to hold empty aluminum cans, little toys, and other objects weight in the neighborhood of several ounces. Quite a striking display. The blue LED lights are functional and assist you in finding the "sweet-spot" (point at which you'll be able to levitate...which is a little tricky at first. Just a VERY cool demo--especially because there are no over-head parts. It just floats...in mid-air...with nothing but the flat surface below it. Highly recommended.
