• Use Morse code to signal secret messages • Includes torch key ring and shutter card with code conversion on the back
Send secret messages with this Morse code kit American inventor Samuel Morse invented Morse code in 1843. One of the most important codes ever created, Morse code uses a combination of dots and dashes to represent letters and numbers. Originally intended as a method of encoding messages by telegraph, it can be transmitted in different ways. In written form, it is dashes and dots in particular patterns. A flashing torch can also transmit these patterns: a quick flash is equivalent to a dot, a long flash to a dash. Shutters on a Navy signal lamp are also used to create the recognizable signals. Use the Morse code conversion on the back of the torch key ring or shutter card to encode your message, and then flash the patterns to your partner. Your partner writes down the patterns, and uses the conversion card to translate it.Includes Morse code torch key ring, shutter card and instructions. WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD – Small parts.
