    Microscope for grandson
Reviewed By: Rod Paley (Rockaway, New Jersey)
I purchased the scope to introduce my grandson to optical devices. It did everything I wanted to stimulate his interest in many areas of science. The two most highly desired characteristics were self illumination and 400X. Without the high magnification I could not show him the living things in pond water or other extremely small items. When I was a kid I had a non-self illuminated scope and was extremely disappointed to only be able to use it in bright sunshine. This scope could be used at night after a day of collecting specimen. The only negative factor is the fact that it is manufactured in China.
