Spectacular Crystal Formations
For centuries, mankind sought the secret for changing base metals into gold. This practice was known as alchemy and it was a driving force in scientific research dating back to ancient Egypt. Even Sir Isaac Newton unsuccessfully pursued the secret of what is referred to as ‘The Philosopher’s Stone’
It was not until 1980 that Nobel prize-winning chemist Glenn Seaborg, using nuclear physics, cracked the code. Seaborg, himself is responsible for the discovery of the actinoid series of elements on the Periodic Table. He synthesized a minute quantity of BISMUTH into GOLD by removing neutrons and protons from this less valued element.
Here we present to you a beautiful sample of synthetic BISMUTH, what some might now consider to be ‘The Philosopher’s Stone’. In its normal form, bismuth looks like lead. However, when it is super-heated and allowed to cool slowly, bismuth crystallizes in spectacular fashion. We'll deliver approximately 2” worth of bismuth crystal to you, in 1 or 2 distinct specimens.
This is NOT a toy. Please handle the crystal minimally and with care as you would any fragile object.
